It has been a few years since Laurence VAUCLAIR has set in the Flea Market of Saint Ouen where she exhibits ceramics that are called : BARBOTINE, MAJOLICA and PALISSY'S FOLLOWERS. For fifteen years, she has been putting her interest into ceramics and especially in barbotine ware. This sort of majolica has been much known for having been a common ornementation of the Napoleon III period, particularly in sitting rooms or winter gardens in which they could express their joyful colors and their exuberant shapes.
As a passionate and specialist, she particularly attached value to the French ware manufactures as Jérôme and Delphin Massier's in Vallauris, as Choisy Le Roi's during the time Hyppolite Boulager was its artistic director, as Sarreguemines with its "Majolica" period in the East of France, and to some regions where Figulines were made : Tours, for Avisseau's creations, Angoulême for Renolau's or Paris for Thomas Victor Sergent's.
In the Flea Market of Saint-Ouen , a magical place where art lovers meet , come and visit the "Aidjolate Antiquités" gallery in which Laurence Vauclair displays a huge collection of 19th century majolica pieces. You will be charmed by the unique and original atmosphere she has the gift to share.
